Job summary

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years purchasing, reimbursements, and UCLA financial management.
  • Budgetary analysis and control including reconciling ledgers and monitoring expenditures.
  • Excellent analytical skills to access financial information, anticipate problems, develop solutions and implement changes.
  • Ability to communicate with people from diverse social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Windows-based computers; Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks with interruptions.
  • Ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track funding.
  • Knowledge of UCLA-specific systems such as PAMS, RAPID Close-out, Cayuse.
  • Experience with ERS, MTF, ROR, P-Card management, T&E Card management, Gift processing.
  • Knowledge of university accounting policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal/state contract and grant fiscal policies.
  • Proficiency with BruinBuy Plus, Connexxus, UCPath, UCTRS, CashNet.

Job description

Position Summary

The UCLA Department of Statistics & Data Science is an academic department within the UCLA College of Letters and Science and the Division of Physical Sciences. The department oversees all class offerings, faculty research, and graduate and undergraduate programs.

Salary & Compensation
  • UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
  • 1-2 Years Purchasing, reimbursements, and general UCLA financial management. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated skill in budgetary analysis and control which includes reconciling ledgers, monitoring expenditures based on existing revenue and cost data. (Required)
  • Excellent analytical skills to access financial information, anticipate problems, develop alternative solutions, make recommendations and implement changes. (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds to effectively obtain and convey information. (Required)
  • Proficient in the operation of a Windows-based computer. Includes various software, such as Excel, Word, etc. (Required)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and to assist in areas outside of assigned duties occasionally to help ensure that the mission of the department is completed. (Required)
  • Ability to organize and perform a variety of tasks that need to be carried out simultaneously with frequent interruptions. (Required)
  • Ability to create and maintain individualized Excel spreadsheets to track funding at the request of professors. (Required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with UCLA PAMS, RAPID Close-out tool and Cayuse. (Preferred)
  • Experience with Effort Reporting System (ERS), Monetary Transfer of Funds (MTF), Recharge Order Request (ROR), P-Card management, T&E Card management, Gift processing, Gift & Sales/Service Accounting. (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of university accounting and other administrative policies and procedures. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of federal and state contract and grant fiscal policies and procedures. (Preferred)
  • Proficient in the use of BruinBuy Plus, Connexxus, UCPath, UCTRS, and CashNet. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training. (Required)
Special Conditions for Employment
  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
  • Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
