Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Requirements Technical Writer to join our Cyber Mission unit in Jessup, MD. This full-time role supports one of the largest enterprise engineering contracts in the Intelligence Community and requires 1880 hours per year at a customer location.

You will write and edit operations documentation, create guides for capabilities, and research technical material, while leveraging MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio to produce clear, precise publications.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four years of additional TW experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Requirements Technical Writer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a Technical Writer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.

You will provide dedicated assistance in the preparation, review, revision and maintenance of technical documents to support the unit's mission. You will write and edit technical documentation for all supported organizations activities; create documentation for operations; produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities - Standard Operating Procedures and policies; Researching technical subject matter, organizing information from multiples sources, and expressing technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers.#MDFSP #AJCM

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

• Eight(8) years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional TW experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Understanding of basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), ability to be responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents.
• Experience in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications.
• Experience conducting research and drafting technical requirements.
• Ability to gather technical information and prepare written text.
• Skilled in use of multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
• Must understand basic concepts and write technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity.
• Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Poly must be within the last 10 years.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

• Must be self-starter capable of working tasks to completion without direct immediate oversight.
• Basic understanding of SIGINT concepts and terminology.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
