Job summary

Knight Federal Solutions is seeking a Requirements Engineer to support defense and intelligence programs. You will craft functional requirements from customer needs, define validation methodologies, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure traceability from requirements to testing.

Ideal candidates have an active TS/SCI clearance, 8+ years of experience, a bachelor's degree, and excellent communication skills with customers and leadership.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to pass CI Poly.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in relevant field.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong oral and written communication with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop functional requirements based on customer needs and specs.
• Define and implement requirement determination methodologies.
• Collaborate across teams to validate requirement definitions.
• Translate customer features into internal requirements for design/engineering.
• Maintain requirement repositories and ensure traceability from requirements to testing.
• Coordinate Requirements Management to follow norms and regulations.
• Guide development of test cases and procedures to verify requirements.
• Ensure end-to-end traceability of artifacts including requirements, code and tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop functional requirements as needed that are based on customer needs/specifications.
• Define and implement methodologies for determination of requirements.
• Collaborate with specialists across various teams to validate requirement definition and coherency.
• Work with partners and customers to understand new features and translate them into internal requirements that can be implemented by design/engineering team.
• Build and maintain requirement repositories, and collaborate with development, engineering and testing teams to create traceability from requirements to testing to implementation.
• Coordinate the Requirements Management work to ensure it follows internal and external norms and regulations.
• Guide the development of test cases and test procedures that verify the requirements and assist in identifying test methods that successfully assess functionality against requirements.
• Ensure end-to-end traceability of all artifacts including requirements, code and test.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Must have an active/current TS/SCI and be able to pass a CI Poly.
• Must have at least 8 years’ experience
• A bachelor's degree
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with customer, team, and leadership.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
