Job description

Job Description

This role involves investigating complex, represented claims, including uninsured or underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims in single or multi-car accidents, as well as moderate or major claims. The individual may also handle complex CPL claims or specialized claims such as business interruption, loss of income, or E&O policies. Responsibilities include taking recorded statements, resolving loss of use claims, making payments, and negotiating or referring bodily injury issues that cannot be resolved.

Key Roles:

  1. Customer Service Expert: Live into Allstate's Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring, with compassion, clarity, and partnership in each claim. Lead with empathy.
  2. The Investigator: Independently investigate casualty claims by reviewing damages and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
  3. The Effective Communicator: Use phone, email, and video chat to guide customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process, respecting their communication preferences.
  4. The Negotiator: Evaluate and negotiate claim settlements with customers, vendors, and third parties, employing legal and business standards and handling challenging situations tactfully.
  5. The Problem Solver: Utilize tools and critical thinking skills to efficiently manage claims in a fast-paced environment.
  6. The Recorder: Ensure accurate documentation of each claim in the system, protecting the company's financial interests.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of 3rd Party Bodily Injury claims handling experience.
  • 2-5 years of GA claims experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient communication skills, especially over the phone.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, managing time effectively.
  • Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and liability.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with claims evaluation tools and platforms.

Remote Work Details:

This is a permanent remote, home-based role within the United States (excluding California, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico). Requirements include a dedicated workspace, minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB down/5 MB up, and appropriate equipment, which Allstate provides. A license may be required within 60 days of hire, with a sign-on bonus of $1,000 available for licensed candidates.
