Holy Cross Health is hiring a Part-time Night Shift Patient Access Representative I in Germantown. The role focuses on obtaining and verifying demographic and financial information for inpatients and outpatients during registration, with an emphasis on accuracy, privacy, and customer service.

Responsibilities include communicating insurance details to relevant staff, completing required notifications, and collecting payments at or before service.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Fluency in English; Spanish preferred (may be required in some settings).
• Two-year hospital/healthcare experience preferred (registration, billing, cash collections or insurance).
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office and email.
• Typing 45 wpm or higher.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient access with excellent customer service during the registration process.
• Communicate financial/insurance information to case management and financial counseling staff as appropriate.
• Complete all managed care notification requirements.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per privacy and security policies.
• Enter patient information accurately into the registration system and obtain signatures on forms.
• Obtain applicable patient payments prior to or at the time services are provided.
• May enter laboratory and radiology orders when necessary.

Employment Details

Employment Type: Part-time. Shift: Night (10:30 pm to 7 am, Friday and Saturday, every other weekend). Location: Germantown. Position Purpose: Responsible for obtaining and verifying demographic and financial information for all inpatients and outpatients prior to or during the registration process.

Position Responsibilities

As a "Representative I, Patient Access" you will: Excellent customer service skills are utilized in all dealings with patients, family members, physician offices, third party payers and co‑workers. Financial/insurance information is communicated to case management and financial counseling staff when appropriate. Completes all managed care notification requirements. Maintains patient confidentiality and always adheres to hospital privacy and security policies. May be required to enter laboratory and radiology orders, when necessary. Minimizes the financial risk of providing services by assessing the patient's financial status, verifying and entering accurate patient information into the registration system, obtaining signatures on all required hospital and regulatory forms and obtaining applicable patient payments prior to or at the time services are provided.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred.
• Spanish may be required for this position in specific settings.
• Two-year experience in a hospital and/or other health care setting, preferably in registration, billing, cash collections or insurance requirements.
• Familiarity with third party/insurance payers and medical terminology preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of computers. Specifically, Microsoft products and email.
• Typing skills of 45 wpm or higher required.
• Excellent telephone customer service skills, strong interpersonal communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Willingness to transport patients by wheelchair, meet patient age‑specific needs, Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.89 - $25.04. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location. [Non-benefit eligible Roles]**Under 0.3 FTE (16 hours weekly) or per diem roles**
