Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Oakdale, California is seeking a Customer Service professional to manage orders, forecasts, and coordination across plants. The role serves as the primary liaison between plant operations and customer operations, ensuring timely processing and accurate data in ERP systems.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or equivalent experience, strong numerical accuracy, and solid MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives and enters customer orders, change orders and credit orders for finished goods into an ERP system.
• Manages customer order releases interacting with plant production control personnel.
• Front line liaison between plant operations and customer operations regarding daily, weekly, and monthly requirements and issues.
• Maintains accurate and timely online customer forecasts.
• Assists in monitoring shipping schedules and logistical issues with the various production plants.
• Accountable for the identification, disposition, and follow-up of slow moving, aged, and/or surplus inventories.
• Participates in customer conference calls; customer visits may be required.
• Interacts with plant schedulers, PC managers, shipping, sales and corporate planning.
• Knowledge of BOM accuracy, graphics and configuration process.
• Contributes to achieving plant and corporate production planning and control goals.

What you'll be doing:

• Receives and enters customer orders, change orders and credit orders for finished goods into an ERP system.
• Manages customer order releases interacting with plant production control personnel.
• Serves as front line liaison between plant operations and customer operations regarding daily, weekly, and monthly requirements and associated issues. These issues include, but are not limited to, customer requirements, notices of complaint, and changes in customer demand.
• Maintains accurate and timely on-line customer forecasts. These forecasts are the basis for the entire planning and control cycle.
• Assists in monitoring shipping schedules and logistical issues with the various production plants.
• Accountable for the identification, disposition, and necessary follow-up of slow moving, aged, and/or surplus inventories.
• Participates or initiates various customer conference calls as required. Customer visits may also be required to establish and enhance customer communications.
• Interacts with various disciplines within the supply chain including plant schedulers, PC managers, shipping, sales and corporate planning.
• Working knowledge of associated bill of material accuracy, graphics and can configuration process.
• Plays a key role in the achievement of plant and corporate production planning and control goals.

This position is located in our Oakdale, California facility.

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
• Well-polished written communications and verbal skills
• Strong accuracy working with numbers
• 3+ years of experience in customer service in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and experience with ERP systems required. Ability to work with NETUI and browse functions in QAD to gather necessary tracking and reporting information.
• Must act professionally and with integrity.
• Work in a team environment with other CSRs in various supportive roles.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and vibrant work environment and good follow-up

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $67,760 to $76,230.
