The Reporting Fellow for MPR News at American Public Media Group is a full-time role based in St. Paul, MN.

You will join our newsroom to cover general assignment, enterprise stories, and daily news for radio and online, including developing a sub-beat and producing compelling audio. This fellowship emphasizes learning through immersive work: newsroom ethics, fast reporting, audio production, and storytelling across radio, web, and social channels.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in journalism/communications or 2+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of journalism/communications experience.
• Available full-time (40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 11 a.m.–7 p.m.) throughout the fellowship.
• Willingness to conduct in-person interviews with diverse sources.
• Strong writing and reporting ethics fundamentals.

Aufgaben

• Cover general assignment, trending stories and breaking news as assigned.
• Develop enterprise and daily stories on a sub-beat or area of interest.
• Tell stories for radio, web and social channels with strong reporting.
• Report from the field, including recording press conferences and interviewing eyewitnesses.
