Job summary

Axios is seeking a writer-editor to lead afternoons and evenings on our newsdesk with a See it, write it mentality. You’ll report to our Executive Editor and act as a 24/7 nerve center for the newsroom.

You will handle real-time surveillance, quick-turn spot news, and editing of national stories while coordinating with experts and teams across the organization. This remote-optional role supports a strong, inclusive work culture.

Qualifications

• Fast writing speed with accuracy under deadline pressure.
• Ability to edit others’ copy while producing your own output.
• Demonstrated collaboration across desk, editors and reporters.

Responsibilities
