Job description

The Columbus Republic, an award-winning newspaper in south-central Indiana, is looking for full-time news reporters (sports, education, government, etc.).

Our news organization deeply values community journalism and audience engagement, utilizing print and digital to deliver our message every day. The Republic covers the city of Columbus and Bartholomew County, including regional stories from surrounding counties. We are part of HD Media LLC, a group of daily and weekly newspapers with a presence in other Central Indiana counties.

One or two years of newspaper experience is preferred but recent journalism graduates with strong clips are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must be versatile, be able to analyze information and write well, cover beats, work well under deadline pressure. Our reporters generate story ideas, cultivate sources and provide content for print and digital online products.

HD Media LLC offers excellent pay with benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, paid time off and a 401k with company match.

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour.
