Job summary

Vistar, a leading provider of candy, snacks and beverages, seeks a Replenishment Buyer to maintain optimal inventory levels across distribution centers. You will place purchase orders, monitor stock, and partner with Sales to align demand with inventory strategies.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in replenishment purchasing or planning, and a high school diploma or GED; a BA/BS in business or supply chain is preferred. This role offers work-from-home 1 day per week after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, supply chain or related area (preferred)
• 2-4 years purchasing or closely related area within foodservice industry (preferred)
• Perishables purchasing highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing execution: Place Purchase Orders to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement and optimal fill rates.
• Inventory management: Analyze and monitor inventory levels to maintain stock.
• Forecasting: Leverage forecasting and inventory management systems knowledge.
• Risk mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks in inventory and purchasing processes.
• Sales and supplier partnership: Collaborate with Sales on demand and inventory strategies; maintain supplier relationships.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams for smooth inventory and purchasing activities.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and SOX.

Job Description:

Our Replenishment Buyers play a key role in maintaining optimal inventory levels at our OpCo's (Operating Companies, distribution centers) and high fill rates to ensure best-in-class service levels to Vistar's customers. Successful Buyers are analytical and detail oriented.

The Replenishment Buyer position will include performing the following duties:

• Purchasing Execution: Place Purchase Orders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement to drive optimal customer fill rates
• Inventory Management: Analyze and monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and are maintained for assigned area(s) of responsibility
• Forecasting: Leverage and build on knowledge of forecasting and inventory management systems
• Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks in the inventory and purchasing process
• Sales and Supplier Partnership: Work cross functionally with Sales team on customer demand and inventory strategies, while maintaining strong supplier relationships to drive purchasing and supply chain efficiencies
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination of inventory and purchasing activities
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with Vistar (PFG) and SOX policies and procedures
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Our Buyers are able to work from home 1 day/week after onboarding period.

Qualifications:
