Qualifications

• Availability to work Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical repair/construction tasks.
• First Aid/CPR Training.
• Valid driver's license with insurance requirements.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, on ladders and crawlspaces.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on home repair tasks including site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, crawlspace work, ladders, and other construction activities.
• Manage tools, equipment, and materials at job sites and storage areas, including loading and transport.
• Help Site Supervisors keep sites clean, organized, and safe per safety standards.
• Support volunteers to maintain a safe, positive, productive work environment.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners, volunteers, staff, and team members.
• Follow safety protocols and use tools responsibly.
• Perform additional repair, maintenance, and project support duties as assigned.

Our client is seeking a Repairs Assistant to help complete home repair projects that preserve and improve safe, affordable housing for local homeowners. This role will work under the direction of Site Supervisors and alongside staff, volunteers, and homeowners to complete repair and construction tasks, maintain job sites, and support daily project needs.

This is a hands-on, team-oriented role that requires dependability, adaptability, and a strong commitment to service. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, communicates respectfully with others, follows direction, and is willing to learn new skills while contributing to a safe and positive work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on home repair tasks, including site preparation, framing, insulation, drywall, crawlspace work, work from ladders and at varying heights, and other construction-related activities.
• Manage tools, equipment, and materials at job sites, the affiliate warehouse, and storage trailers, including loading, transporting, organizing, and proper storage.
• Assist Site Supervisors to set up and maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites in compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Support, guide, and work alongside volunteers to promote a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners, volunteers, staff, and other team members.
• Follow the organization's safety protocols and use tools and equipment responsibly.
• Perform additional repair, maintenance, and project support duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Availability to work Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move at least 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of repair and construction work.
• First Aid/CPR Training.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet host site's insurance requirements (must be at least 21 years of age and have no serious driving-related convictions or at-fault accidents)
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, in crawlspaces, on ladders, and at varying heights while following required safety procedures.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with homeowners, volunteers, and staff.
• Initiative and ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

Preferences

• Experience in construction, home repair, maintenance, or volunteer-based work preferred.
• Willingness to learn new skills and participate in training.
