Progress Rail Services Corp. in Sidney, NE seeks a Repairer I, Rail Car to remove, fabricate, fit and weld railcar parts per blueprints and work orders. You will read drawings, operate welding equipment, and use hand/power tools to repair components.

The role offers starting pay of $21 per hour, a path to raise via skill tests, and a $3,000 first-year bonus. High school or GED preferred; safety-focused environment with heavy equipment and cranes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Capable use of hand and power tools, including pneumatic tools, cutting torches and welding machines;
  • Work around and operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment;
  • Work from heights over 6';
  • Work on varied surfaces (concrete floors, gravel, rail car floors);
  • Constant standing, walking;
  • Frequent bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching, climbing ladders;
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.

Must have a valid drivers license
