Job summary

Transco Railway Products, Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Repair Technician to support weld and repair work on railcar components. You will learn by doing, assisting welders with cutting and welding operations and performing a variety of rail car repair tasks in a TEAM environment.

The role requires reading specifications, blueprints, and schematics, with a focus on safety and physical capability. Third shift hours are 10:00-6:30am, with a shift differential of $3.00/hr.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training from experienced welders.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and physical.
• Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with proper technique.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

We are looking for an Entry-Level Repair Technician to provide support to by performing basic repairs. You will repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels.

Shift:

Third Shift 10:00-6:30am Monday-Friday

Wage: $25.50/hr + $3.00/hr shift differential

Job Requirements:

Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes. Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test. The ability to work in adverse weather conditions. The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics. Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance. Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards. Able to pass drug screen, physical.
