STERIS offers a variety of repair solutions to meet the needs of the Customer including onsite mobile repair services, in house repair lab services, or one of five national repair centers.
• You do not need previous instrument repair experience to be considered.
• This is an entry-level job - we will train you!
• In this position, you will perform surgical instrument inspection, repair, and refurbishment in a field-based setting. Technicians work out of mobile repair trucks at Customer sites and regional labs in more condensed markets. Technicians deliver superior Customer Experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards.
• This role requires daily travel by driving a company vehicle. STERIS will run a 7-year driving record check as part of onboarding.
• This is a remote-based customer-facing position. Candidates must be based out of Oregon, with daily commutes to the truck storage facility in Hillsboro.
• NOTE: This primarily Monday-Friday position may require occasional overnight travel to service accounts several hours away. STERIS covers all travel expenses, and driving time is paid.

What You Will Do

Perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instrumentation using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, various hand and power tools, soldering, etc. Repair complexity will vary.

You will work in the field on a mobile repair truck, inside a repair lab, or inside a hospital, based on customer needs within your territory.

Provide invoicing and documentation as needed.

Support various locations within your territory depending on service agreements, customer needs, and staffing levels.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of relevant work experience, or 1 year at STERIS
• Flexibility for early/late hours and occasional travel
• Ability to pass DOT medical/physical exam and maintain vaccines
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record
• Ability to drive DOT-regulated vehicle and conduct safety checks
• Minimum age 21
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push carts up to 150 pounds
• Ability to meet hospital/customer credentialing requirements

Note: Relevant work experience includes repair, assembly, testing, or use of small tools, electronics repair, carpentry, circuit board work, sterile processing, industrial work, automotive repair, etc.

Pay range: $19.92 - $25.78, with bonus eligibility. Pay is based on experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
