What You'll Do
The Fleet Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and general servicing of company-owned fleet equipment. This role supports operational reliability by maintaining forklifts, utility vehicles, trailers, golf carts, and other mobile equipment while ensuring all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. The Fleet Technician works closely with Operations and Fleet Management to minimize equipment downtime, maintain accurate maintenance records, and promote a safe and productive work environment.
Fleet Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on company fleet equipment
- Maintain and repair diesel, propane, and electric forklifts, utility vehicles, golf carts, roll-off trailers, and other mobile equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, fuel system, and brake-related issues
- Remove and replace equipment components including bearings, brakes, tires, batteries, hydraulic hoses, belts, filters, and other wear items
- Complete scheduled maintenance services including lubrication, fluid changes, filter replacements, and safety inspections
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform timely repairs to minimize operational downtime
- Perform minor welding, fabrication, and structural repairs when required
Equipment Inspections & Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment deficiencies before failures occur
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, repair documentation, and parts usage logs
- Inspect equipment for compliance with safety standards and operational requirements
- Recommend replacement or repair of worn or damaged components
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and maintenance procedures
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas within the maintenance shop and throughout company facilities
- Safely operate maintenance tools, shop equipment, forklifts, hoists, and lifting devices
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, accidents, injuries, or near misses immediately
- Promote a safety-first culture throughout all maintenance activities
Operational Support
- Communicate with Fleet Management, Operations, and other departments regarding equipment condition, repair status, maintenance schedules, and operational priorities
- Assist with parts inventory, ordering, and organization of maintenance supplies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on fleet reliability, equipment performance, and maintenance efficiency
- Perform additional duties as assigned

- Minimum of 5 years of fleet maintenance experience preferred
- Experience maintaining forklifts, trailers, utility vehicles, golf carts, or similar mobile equipment
- Experience in commercial fleet maintenance, industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, or construction equipment repair
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Annual Inspector Qualification, Brake Inspector Qualification, ASE Certification, or similar certifications are a plus but not required
- Experience performing welding, fabrication, and structural repairs is preferred
- Work is performed in maintenance shops, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, outdoor yards, and operational environments
- Frequent exposure to moving equipment, forklifts, trailers, hydraulic systems, fuels, lubricants, noise, dust, and varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
- Ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds using safe lifting practices or mechanical assistance Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, lifting devices, hoists, and maintenance equipment
- Overtime or extended hours may be required based on operational needs
