Job summary

CTDI is seeking an Assistant Tech in a warehouse environment in Glenville, NY. You will inspect product functions, monitor test procedures, and operate specialized test equipment to support major telecommunications and cable providers.

The role emphasizes soldering, troubleshooting, and maintaining records, with a focus on safety and quality in a fast-paced setting. Union-friendly, with weekly pay and ongoing incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with testing electronic equipment and basic repair is preferred.
• Ability to read basic measurements and document results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing procedures using specialized equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues in electronic equipment.
• Solder equipment to repair, modify, and change parts, using surface mount and thru-hole methods.
• Disassemble and reassemble electronic devices.
• Comply with quality performance standards.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Ensure adherence to warehouse safety regulations, including ESD guidelines.
• All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.

• 1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
• Pay: $22.09/hr

In this role, you will provide services to the world’s largest telecommunications and cable providers. An Assistant Tech, inspects product functions and monitors test procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing procedures using specialized equipment.

Required Skills And Experience

• Skilled in the operation of test equipment.
• Capable of utilizing repair tools including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, voltmeters, and soldering irons.
• Ability to perform both surface mount and thru-hole soldering techniques, as well as operate automated repair equipment (BGA machine).
• Proficient in soldering and de-soldering techniques.
• Comfortable working autonomously and in a team environment.
• Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
• Proficiency in computer skills required for precise data entry of completed units.
• Competent in maintaining accurate and organized records.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous technical experience.
• Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read schematics.
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff.

Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Warehouse environment.
• The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs., if necessary.
• The ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time, if necessary.
• The ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and reach in a continuous/repetitive capacity, if necessary.
