Our client is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, test, and document electronic test-and-measurement equipment. This is a hands-on role for an electronics professional who enjoys troubleshooting at the component and board level, working with both analog and digital circuitry, and ensuring equipment is returned to customers in reliable working condition.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and test electronic equipment in accordance with our client’s quality and service standards.
- Perform fault isolation and component-level repairs on analog and digital electronic circuits.
- Use diagnostic and test equipment including digital voltmeters (DVMs), oscilloscopes, power supplies, and computer-based test programs.
- Read, interpret, and apply electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service documentation.
- Conduct functional, performance, and final-quality testing following repair work.
- Document repair findings, work performed, parts used, and test results accurately in the appropriate service system.
- Support calibration, metrology, and measurement-related activities as required.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient repair work area.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and, when needed, customers regarding equipment condition, repair status, and technical findings.
- Safely lift, move, or handle equipment and materials weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant technical training and experience will also be considered.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience repairing, troubleshooting, testing, or servicing electronic equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of electronic troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic processes.
- Experience using standard electronic test equipment, including:
- Bench power supplies
- Computer-based or automated test programs
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and related technical documentation.
- Demonstrated experience working with both analog and digital circuitry.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and commitment to quality.
- Clear English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation and ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- U.S. citizenship is required because this role may involve conducting business at U.S. government facilities.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds unassisted.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a repair depot, electronics manufacturing, calibration lab, field-service, instrumentation, or test-and-measurement environment.
- Familiarity with metrology, calibration principles, traceability, or measurement uncertainty.
- Experience troubleshooting power electronics, high-voltage equipment, embedded electronics, instrumentation, or industrial electrical test equipment.
- Experience with ERP, repair-tracking, quality, or service-management systems.
- IPC soldering, rework, or electronics assembly experience.
- Familiarity with root-cause analysis and failure-report documentation.
