Job summary

Transco Rail Services, part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking an Entry-Level Repair Technician to support railcar maintenance tasks in a team-driven environment. You will perform basic repairs on metal parts according to layouts, work orders, and sketches, using a variety of tools and welding as required.

First shift, Monday–Friday, starting pay $22.01 per hour with a benefits package. You’ll learn welding, read blueprints, and collaborate with skilled technicians to ensure quality workmanship and

• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.
• Stick welding - required.
• Mechanical experience preferred.
• Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.
• The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Physical ability to climb, lift and move materials.
• The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
• Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.
• Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.
• Able to pass drug screen, physical.

Job Description:

We are looking for an Entry-Level Repair Technician to provide support to by performing basic repairs. You will repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels. This is an hourly position starting at $22.01.

Shift:

First Shift Only - Monday – Friday (06:30 a.m.-03:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements:

• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.
• Stick welding - required.
• Mechanical experience preferred.
• Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.
• The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
• Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.
• Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.
• Able to pass drug screen, physical.
