Job summary

Trojan Battery Company is seeking a Repair Operator to anticipate, assess, and troubleshoot batteries that may be rejected. You will visually inspect batteries, perform minor repairs, and follow strict safety and PPE protocols while adhering to the Quality policy.

Responsibilities include inspecting for defects, operating a forklift, testing for leaks, and ensuring proper labeling and pallet transport. A high school diploma and forklift certification are required along with relevant training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Forklift Driver Certification is required.
• Training certifications relevant to the role are required.
• Blood Lead Health and Hygiene Protocols must be complied with.
• Must understand and follow safe lifting procedures up to 50 lbs.
• Hazard communication procedures must be followed.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect batteries for excess lead, ensure balance and alignment.
• Place shields on batteries.
• Verify and inspect for misaligned covers; assist heat sealer during full capacity.
• Operate air hose to test for leaks.
• Operate forklift to move batteries offline to pallet and label with model and part number; transport pallets to remote location.
• Identify defects and perform minor repairs to battery elements.
• Complete inspection checklist.
• Demonstrate proper removal of covers from damaged batteries.
• Anticipate, assess and troubleshoot batteries that may be rejected.
• Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE.
• Understand and practice the Quality policy.

Position Overview

Repair Operator anticipates, assesses and troubleshoots batteries that may be rejected. Repair Operator will comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE as well as understand & practice the Quality policy.

Areas of Focus

Repair Operator visually inspects batteries and identify possible defects that may cause inconsistent welds or other problems. Repair Operator will make minor repairs to battery elements and perform inspection checklist. Additionally, Repair Operator will anticipate, assess and troubleshoot batteries that may be rejected.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift Driver Cert
• Training certification(s) as appropriate
• Comply with Blood Lead Health and Hygiene Protocols
• Understand and comply with correct lifting procedures which enable lifting to 50 lbs
