Job summary

Trojan Battery Company is hiring a Forklift Operator in the United States to support production by delivering materials to machine operators and moving finished batteries in the shipping area.

The role requires a positive attitude, the ability to work independently, and a minimum six months of related experience. A Forklift Driver Certificate and High School Diploma or GED are required, with bilingual Spanish a plus. Overtime and multiple shifts available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Read, write, and speak basic English.
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Forklift Driver Certificate is required.
• Knowledge of hazardous material labels is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE.
• Understand and practice Trojan Battery Quality Policies.
• Ensure machine operators have required materials at all times.
• Meet suppliers to receive and verify materials meet order quantity.
• Remove scrap and hazardous recyclable waste to reclamation area and prepare paperwork.
• Ensure that re-orders are timely; notify supervisor of shortages.
• Move DUF batteries from racks to formation.
• Label hazardous waste and move to satellite area.
• Ensure labeling and weight restrictions are met.
• Understand and follow work instructions.
• Maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices.
• Load and unload batteries, materials and supplies onto and off trucks within warehouse, assembly and production areas.
• Available for various shifts and overtime.

Position Overview

Forklift Operator requires an individual with a positive attitude and ability to work independently with minimum direction. Forklift Operator will be working to make sure that machine operators have the materials they need to produce our world class batteries as well and moving finishing product onto and off trucks in the shipping area.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or greater

• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Forklift Driver Certificate
• Understand specifications and labels associated with hazardous material
• Minimum six months’ experience in production, construction, warehouse, or similar work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Some experience in an assembly/ production environment
• Bilingual in Spanish

Salary Range

Salary Range: $23..-$25.00/hr
