• Perform basic machine adjustments, blade changes, table adjustments and ensure safety guards are in place.
• Demonstrate proper cutting techniques to maximize blade usage.
• Track production on required forms.
• Clean bandsaw operating area and restock lumber at end of shift.
• May work daily overtime and occasional Saturdays.
• Perform other duties as required.

What will you do?

Operate a mechanical Smart Saw/band saw to cut/remove damaged lumber as needed in the refurbishing of wood pallets. Must have the ability to lift and handle wood pallets that weigh 75-85 lbs. Will be required to meet fast-paced production requirements and established daily and weekly production targets. Adhere to all company safety requirements to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Comply with all safety guidelines.
• Ensure all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is used at all times while performing job duties.
• Operate the mechanical bandsaw in the CB or TD process.
• Perform basic adjustments to the machine, including changing saw blades, table adjustments, and ensuring all safety guards are in place.
• Demonstrate proper cutting techniques to maximize blade usage and minimize stress on the equipment.
• Track production on required forms.
• Clean bandsaw operating area and restock lumber at the end of every shift
• May be required to work daily overtime and occasional Saturdays.
• Performs other duties as required.

Connector Board (CB) is responsible for inspecting the pallet to determine if the Connector Board is broken across the width. Determine if the pallet has 3 broken Connector Boards and set aside for teardown approval. After determining that the pallet possesses a broken CB, position the pallet and align the bandsaw blade where the correct Connector Board(s) will be properly cut out for replacement. Remove ALL defective component(s) and throw them in the scrap wood bins. Gather all needed components and position them in the pallet and align components so that the Connector Board(s) are placed where they are going to get repaired. Teardown (TD): Ensure pallets that need to be torn down or scrapped are properly identified in accordance with the standard operating procedure and the provided allocation. Segregate pallets identified for scrap or teardown, so they do not re-enter the working pool. Tear down the pallet and recover as many usable lumber components as possible. Document all reclaimed lumber from the torn-down pallet on a daily production form.
