Job summary

Hampton by Hilton Ponce is seeking an experienced Repair and Maintenance Technician to join our 24/7 hotel operations. You will perform advanced repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, address guest room and public area maintenance, and lead larger projects with contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Technical college certification or relevant licenses required.
• Experience as repair and maintenance technician in a hotel or similar setting; supervisory or lead role ideal.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem solving and ability to troubleshoot systems.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fire alarm, HVAC, and life-safety systems; respond to any alarms.
• Lead maintenance projects with contractors to ensure timely completion.
• Provide training to junior maintenance staff and share best practices.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
• Provide friendly service to guests and address inquiries as needed.
• Collaborate with management and other departments to coordinate maintenance needs.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Repair & Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team at Hampton by Hilton Ponce. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting advanced repairs and maintenance of various systems and equipment throughout the hotel. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. Our hotel operates 24/7, and team members must be flexible and ready to adapt their schedules based on business demands.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Repairs: Perform a wide range of maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
• Guest Room Maintenance: Address repairs in guest rooms, such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, adjusting fixtures, and ensuring all appliances are in good working order.
• Public Area Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and repairs in public areas, ensuring cleanliness and functionality of restrooms, lobbies, and other common spaces.
• Preventive Maintenance: Implement and oversee a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize system failures and enhance the longevity of hotel equipment and facilities.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to urgent repair requests and emergencies, minimizing disruption to guests and hotel operations.
• Equipment Monitoring: Regularly inspect and maintain fire alarm, HVAC, and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and responding to any alarms or issues.
• Complex Repairs: Troubleshoot and perform repairs on more complex systems, including kitchen equipment, laundry machines, and mechanical systems, requiring advanced technical skills and knowledge.
• Project Management: Lead and coordinate larger maintenance projects, working with contractors or vendors when necessary to ensure timely and effective completion.
• Quality Assurance:Conduct quality control checks on completed work, ensuring compliance with hotel standards and safety regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with management and other departments to ensure that maintenance needs are met efficiently and effectively, contributing to a cohesive work environment.
• Inventory Management: Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring necessary materials are stocked and available for timely repairs.
• Training and Mentoring: Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance staff, sharing best practices and fostering skill development within the team.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and equipment status, providing comprehensive reports to management as needed.
• Guest Interaction: Provide friendly and helpful service to guests as needed, addressing any inquiries or requests in a professional manner.
  

Minimum Qualifications:
