A leading company in logistics is seeking a Repack Laborer to join their team in Union, New Jersey. Hours: 40 hours/week
Days: 5 per week
Shift: 8 hours, overtime likely weekly

Union: Local 926 - Teamsters Union
Equipment Used: Electric Pallet Jack, Big Joe Product Lift, utility knife, tape, pallets.
Materials Handled: Bulk produce which is repacked into individually packed specifications.
General Description: The Repack Laborer’s primary responsibility is repacking line operations. This position may require obtaining product from storage coolers, moving the product from storage coolers to staging area and repacking on an assembly line. When less than a full pallet of product, workers may move individual items via an Electric Pallet Jack to our repacking assembly stations.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Obtain orders from office and identify customer requested repacking.
2. Product which is stacked into tiers upon arrival and unloaded, is then moved into staging & repack area via electric pallet jack. Pallet jacks are operated in a manner to permit safe operation following our equipment operational guidelines.
3. On level height standard worktables, produce is placed on tables, inspected and repacked into specific packaging for that individual customer.
4. Once order is complete, the product is restacked in tiers for delivery.
Requirements
General Physical Demands: Stationary position requiring standing at repack workstation throughout the workday. Worker may occasionally reach at, above, and below shoulder level to obtain goods. Lifting of individual items is usually performed during the repacking of any product. Individual produce containers do not exceed 30 pounds with only a few exceptions.
Lifting: Amounts to be lifted may range from 1-50 pounds. Lifting of up to 35 pounds
will occur on a rare to an occasional basis. Lifting of up to 50 pounds will be performed on a very rare basis and instructed to bend at the knees to lift from the floor. Lifting may be performed from overhead to floor level also; however most lifting will be from shoulder to waist level.
Carrying: Performed as part of some work activities. Amounts carried may range from 1
to 35 pounds on an occasional basis, the distance of approximately 10 feet.
Walking: The work surface is concrete.
Standing: Most work activities are accomplished from a standing position frequently.
Bending: At times. Bending from the waist; however instructed to do so from the knees.
Reaching: Performed as part of daily work procedures reaching over six hours of their workday. Reaching is above, at, and below shoulder level.
Push/Pull: Pushing or pulling is performed when assembling less than a full pallet of goods or straightening goods on a pallet. Performed on an occasional basis.
Kneeling: Not a usual method of repacking product.
Conditions: Work is performed inside the warehouse; temps may be as low as 35 degrees.
Education/Training: As per employer policy.
General Comments: The lifting/carrying requirement of this position is predominately less than 35 pounds. General demands of this position are within the Light to Medium physical level
