Job summary

Sundt Construction in Irving, TX is seeking an Equipment Services/Asset Coordinator to manage cost-effective mobilization and demobilization of equipment at multiple job sites. The role requires coordinating third-party transport, renting equipment with best value, and maintaining ERP asset records.

You will interact with Sundt field staff and external vendors, prepare cost estimates with rate data, review invoices, and support project staffing with timely equipment availability.

Qualifications

  • Capable of reading and understanding vendor invoices.
  • Comfortable with computers, capable of learning ERP software, telematics dashboards and others used by the company.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills with agile response.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiar with heavy equipment used in transportation, industrial, building, concrete, and renewable construction.
  • Familiar with common transportation practices and regulations for heavy equipment hauling.
  • Strong math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates transport of assets for equipment services with 3rd party transport companies based on the best value in the time frame required. Maintain asset location and jobsite assignment in ERP system.
  • Creates rental equipment record in the company ERP system.
  • Maintain awareness of company-owned asset utilization and location to guide decision making when renting or relocating equipment.
  • Maintains a healthy relationship with Sundt job site staff.
  • Maintains a healthy relationship with all vendors utilized by Equipment Services.
  • Orders rental heavy equipment for the job sites from vendors based on best value available in that region, and takes rental equipment off rent with vendors based on requests placed by the job sites.
  • Provide rental equipment rates and transport rates to the estimating teams when bidding new work.
  • Reviews Blue Book reimbursement rate from applicable source to estimate FOG and M&R cost. Use this information in conjunction with ownership and/or rental cost to build fair hourly rates for which a project will be charged. Communicate all equipment information to operations team.
  • Reviews and approves rental and transport invoices, and ensure accuracy with respect to quoted rates. Allocate cost components of the invoice to the correct accounts, and process in ERP system.

  • Must be familiar with common heavy equipment used in transportation (civil), industrial, building, concrete, and renewable (solar) construction.
  • Must be familiar with common transportation practices and regulations for heavy equipment hauling.
  • Must possess organizational skills necessary for duties related to dispatching.
  • Provide fast-paced and on-demand customer service to Sundt field staff over various means of communication such as telephone, email, text message, and other messaging platforms
  • Strong math skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  • May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day
  • Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
