Job summary

Brown County Construction is looking for a Yard Laborer to join our team. You will handle equipment, assist customers, and ensure tools and machinery are ready for use in our rental yard.

This hands-on role requires physical stamina, safety awareness, and teamwork to keep the yard organized and hazards minimal. Training will cover basic equipment operation, safety procedures, and daily check-ins, check-outs, and maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse/construction or equipment handling preferred.
• Able to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in various weather.
• Basic understanding of equipment operation; willing to learn.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Equipment handling: Load, unload, move, and arrange rental equipment safely and efficiently.
• Yard maintenance: Keep the rental yard clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Customer assistance: Help customers pick up and return equipment, providing guidance on basic operation and safety.
• Inventory support: Inspect equipment for damage, perform minor maintenance, and report issues to management.
• Safety compliance: Follow company safety procedures and OSHA regulations while operating equipment or performing yard tasks.
• Team support: Assist other staff as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Documentation: Track equipment check-ins, check-outs, and maintenance records accurately.
