Your Role as a Rental Yard Associate
Responsibilities
As a Rental Yard Associate, your daily routine revolves around the upkeep of tools and equipment at Acme’s yard and parking lots. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining tools and equipment around the Acme yard and parking lots
- Fueling all types of equipment before and after customer rentals, checking battery levels in electric lift equipment, and checking cords and locks on trailers
- Loading and unloading tools, equipment, and trailers for customers
- Inspecting tools, equipment, and trailers for damage at time of rental and return
- Delivering and picking up tools and equipment for customers with a pick-up truck and trailer combination
- Maintaining delivery vehicles (scheduling oil changes, checking fluids, inspecting tires, etc.)
- Organizing tools and equipment for accessibility
- Clearing the yard and parking lots of debris and performing snow and ice removal in the winter
- Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering to and striving to improve safety standards and reporting any suspicious activity
- Effectively and professionally communicating with other employees and customers via phone, email, and in person
- Completing related tasks as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to drive and back up a pick-up and trailer combination
- Strong communication skills in person, over the phone, and through email
- Willing to work outdoors in all seasons
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 70 lbs.
- Stand and walk on a hard surface for the duration of your shift
- Bend, squat, pull, push, and reach throughout your shift
