JM Test Systems, a provider of test and measurement equipment services, seeks a Rental Operations Coordinator in Baton Rouge, LA. You will own the check-in process for returns, verify condition and tags, and route units to the lab to maximize uptime. You will travel about 20% to train teams and rollout processes across JM locations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own rental check-in from start to finish, ensuring proper documentation and timely routing to the lab.
• Prepare equipment for re-rental by cleaning, inspecting, and verifying condition and tags.
• Maintain accurate equipment status and track units across locations.
• Document damage with photos and route for resolution and billing.
• Manage accessory inventory and coordinate replenishment.
• Travel to other JM Test Systems locations approximately 20% to support launches and training.
• Assist with check-out during high activity to meet customer by dates.
• Propose process improvements to standardize operations across locations.

The Opportunity

When a customer returns a rental, how quickly we check it in decides how soon it's ready for the next customer. As our Rental Operations Coordinator, you'll own that check-in process. You'll receive returned equipment, inspect and document it, and send it to the lab so it's back in service fast. This is a hands-on job with impact beyond one location. You'll spend about 20% of your time traveling to other JM locations, where you'll train teams, roll out processes, help Rental Managers solve problems, and share what you've learned on the floor. When the outbound side gets busy, you'll also help check out equipment so customers get it by their need-by dates. You'll do well here if you're organized, careful with details, and like making a process run better. Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

• Own rental check-in from start to finish. You'll receive returned equipment, keep receiving and drop-off areas clear, and write up each unit and route it to the lab on time.
• Get equipment ready to rent again. You'll clean and prep units and verify their condition, accessories, and asset tags so each one is ready to go back out.
• Keep equipment status accurate. You'll track every unit as ready, in process, awaiting parts, or out at the manufacturer or another location.
• Document damage with photos and send it to the right team quickly, so issues are resolved and customers are billed correctly.
• Manage accessory inventory and request replenishment before stock runs low.
• Support other locations through planned travel (about 20%). You'll train teams, help launch new locations, and help Rental Managers fix problems on the floor.
• Help improve our processes by pointing out gaps and helping update procedures, so locations work more consistently.
• Back up the check-out team by pulling, staging, and verifying equipment and working with the Lab, QA, and Shipping teams to keep deliveries on time.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in rental operations, warehouse, inventory, receiving, or a similar hands-on operations role
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Comfort with computers, including Microsoft Office and inventory or order-tracking systems
• Clear communication and the confidence to train others and share feedback on how processes can improve
• Willingness to travel about 20% of the time to other JM Test Systems locations

Preferred

• Experience with test equipment, calibration, or equipment rental
