Job summary

Warren CAT is seeking a Rental Field Technician I to provide high-quality repair service on equipment and respond to customer needs promptly. You will perform repairs, tests, and adjustments, while completing related paperwork and maintaining clear communication with management for quotes.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), a CDL is preferred, and the ability to obtain required licenses. Travel up to 10% is expected in this safety-sensitive role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain required licenses/certifications.
  • Mentor Rental team members.
  • Experience with database/internet/manufacturing/order processing software.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Must be 21+ and willing to work varied shifts/overtime/on-call.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
  • Complete related paperwork and access required databases (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble/assemble components, and test/adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Provide accurate information to management for quoting.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend repairs, and perform rental and engine repairs/adjustments.
  • Test and verify correct operation of repairs and adjustments.
  • Apply general failure analysis to determine proper diagnosis.

The Rental Field Technician I is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • This position requires the ability to provide accurate information to management for quoting.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical Rental and engine repairs and adjustments.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or suggest one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Ability to complete and/or obtain any required licenses, certifications and/or registrations.
  • Able to mentor Rental team members.
  • Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform duties.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software and Order processing systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on call.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
