Job summary

Fidelity Power Systems in Sparks, MD is seeking a seasoned Rental Equipment Technician to join our team. You will perform hands-on service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs on rental generators, power distribution equipment, and related systems to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will coordinate with customers on-site for setup, startup, testing, and training, transport equipment to job sites, inspect equipment, and document conditions and repairs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in rental maintenance, preferably in generators or heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of generator sizing, load requirements, and application in various industries.
• Experience with rental management software and scheduling tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between locations and to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on service, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on rental generators, power distribution equipment, and related systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Assist with transporting rental equipment to and from customer job sites using company trucks and trailers while ensuring proper loading, securing, and unloading procedures.
• Coordinate with customers on-site to support setup, startup, testing, and operational training for rented power equipment.
• Maintain rental inventory readiness by inspecting units before and after each rental, documenting equipment condition, and identifying required maintenance or repairs.
• Work closely with service technicians and operations staff to prepare equipment that meets company safety standards and customer performance requirements.
• Monitor rental equipment performance during active rentals and respond to service calls or field issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Support accurate completion of rental contracts, delivery documentation, inspection reports, and service records.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing dependable service, technical support, and responsive communication throughout the rental process.
