Job summary

Fidelity Power Systems is seeking a seasoned Generator Technician to join our Chesapeake, VA team. The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing standby generators and related power systems for commercial and residential customers.

The ideal candidate will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose engine and electrical problems, interact with customers, and manage service reports and quotes.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Vo-tech school or Military training is a plus.
John Deere, Cummins, and/or Caterpillar engine training is preferred.
Training on Automatic Transfer Switches.
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems.
Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines.
Troubleshoot electrical circuit boards.
Perform routine generator maintenance to include oil and filter changes, fuel filter changes, and cooling system services.
Work with customers on a one-on-one basis.
Complete and submit work orders and reports; prepare accurate quotes for repairs.
Maintain truck inventory.
