The Rental Diesel Technician is responsible for repairs, diagnostics, and equipment evaluations, working as part of a professional team. Responsibilities may include incidental repairs, sub-assembly replacements, damage assessments, troubleshooting, and high-level diagnostics, depending on experience and education.

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $34.04 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Essential Functions
  • Use work order systems accurately and timely for repairs and parts orders.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and accept technical advice.
  • Communicate with supervisors and managers regarding repairs and issues.
  • Follow safety practices and maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform repairs to quality standards within designated timeframes.
  • Read and adhere to manufacturer manuals and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment for safe operation and compliance.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and assist in rebuilding and maintaining equipment.
  • Attend training sessions and perform yard duties as needed.
  • Work overtime as required and perform other duties assigned by management.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school graduation with emphasis on diesel engines preferred
  • Heavy equipment, engine, or mechanic repair experience
  • 1-3 years of administrative and customer service experience
Physical Demands & Competencies
  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, manual dexterity, hearing
  • Lifting objects up to 100 pounds or more
  • Data entry, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational skills
  • Knowledge of safety, diagrams, schematics, diagnostic aptitude, and basic computer skills
Work Environment
  • Moderate noise levels, indoors and outdoors
  • Exposure to moving parts, high places, vibration, and fumes
