Job summary

Airgas in Chicago, IL is seeking a Rental Coordinator to support welding equipment rentals and manage daily rental operations. You will handle high-volume calls and emails, ensure timely equipment returns, and coordinate with service staff to fulfill orders.

Requirements include a High School diploma and 2+ years in customer service; an Associate's degree is preferred. Airgas offers a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, retirement and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years of customer service and/or sales experience.
• Greater than three years of customer service.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Customer service in an industrial/rental environment is preferred.
• Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications and equipment is an asset.

• Maintains a safe working environment by following health and safety guidelines.
• Provides excellent customer service to all accounts.
• Provides timely follow-up to customer’s requests.
• Coordinates equipment requirements for efficient order fulfillment and cost containment.

Essential Functions

• Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
• Provides excellent customer service to all accounts.
• Provides follow-up to leads that are sent to the area via Web, Associations.
• Provides timely follow-up to customer’s requests.
• Ensures walk in customers are handled in a timely manner including equipment returns.
• Processes credit card charges.
• Communicates daily with an Outside Sales Associate on inquiries and/or orders received.
• Prepares quotes for outside sales and fax to clients as required.
• Coordinates equipment requirements for efficient order fulfillment and cost containment.
• Plans and directs customer orders with the service department.
• Communicates with the service department and/or shop supervisor in regards to equipment shipments and arranges orders for shipment.
• Ensures proper generation of rental agreements and associated documents.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two (2) years of customer service and/or sales experience.
• Greater than three years of customer service.

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Customer service in an industrial/rental environment is preferred.
