Job summary

Penguin Random House LLC in Reno, NV is seeking a Material Handler for Weekend B, 1st Shift. Work 36 hours and get paid for 40, with shifts Wed-Fri 6:00am–2:00pm and Sat-Sun 6:00am–12:00pm.

Hourly rate is $19.35, onsite at our distribution center, handling pallets and shipping tasks. Responsibilities include palletizing cartons, maintaining a safe workspace, and assisting with packing, labeling and movement of inventory.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and perform simple math.
• Must regularly lift cartons up to 35 pounds, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to lift, move and handle empty pallets.
• Must show initiative to work with little direct supervision.

We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler on our Weekend B, 1st Shift. ($19.35/hr.)

Work 36hrs and get paid for 40hrs.

Shift hours:Wednesday - Friday (6:00am - 2:00pm) &Saturday - Sunday (6:00am - 12:00pm)

Qualifications

Position Responsibilities

• Palletize cartons and prepare cartons to ship.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Perform product movement or other special work as requested by supervisor.

May also be expected to:

• Pick orders and pack books into designated cartons.
• Assemble/disassemble all needed materials for prepacks and assortments.
• Wrap small orders, apply proper postage and labels, tape packages and take to shipping
• Weigh, apply postage to all publicity mailings and route directly to shipping.
• When necessary, change price of books either by machine or manually, operate various equipment, such as tape and price stickering machine.
• Fill completed cartons with bubble wrap in final pack.
• Must show initiative to work with little direct supervision.
• Must be able to read, write and perform simple math.
• Must be able to regularly lift cartons up to 35 pounds, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to lift, move and handle empty pallets.
