Job summary

Light & Wonder, Inc. Reno seeks an Associate Mathematician to design and prove math models for gaming products. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and artists to deliver high-quality math models and simulate game math in an existing framework.

The role requires a strong background in probability and programming (C++, C#, Python) with 1–2 years in applied mathematics, probability, or combinatorics. On-site in Reno, NV with a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of working knowledge in applied mathematics, probability, or combinatorics.
• 1–2 years of experience with C++, C#, Python or similar object-oriented programming language.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Visual Studio experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of probability and ability to create math models for games.

Responsibilities

• Develop and proof math models for gaming probabilities and return.
• Code, test, and debug game simulations in the existing framework.
• Collaborate with game designers, producers, engineers, and artists to implement math models.
• Ensure high quality math models delivered on schedule per game design requirements.
• Provide computer simulations and analysis of existing and new math models.
