Job summary

Big-D Mission Critical is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and execution of mission-critical data center projects from preconstruction through closeout.

The role collaborates with Project Managers, Superintendents, owners, design teams, and trade partners to manage schedules, budgets, procurement, documentation, and commissioning activities while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience on mission-critical or data center projects.
• Understanding of MEP systems and commissioning processes.
• Strong scheduling and documentation management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of mission-critical/data center construction projects, including scope, budget, schedule, quality, and client expectations.
• Support subcontract administration, contract management, procurement, change orders, and buyout activities.
• Coordinate with project teams, trade partners, consultants, vendors, and owners to maintain project alignment and progress.
• Track project schedules, critical milestones, long-lead equipment, and material deliveries to support successful project execution.
• Review and manage RFIs, submittals, drawing updates, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
• Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, budget reporting, and financial controls throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support commissioning, turnover, and closeout processes, including startup activities, testing, punch list management, and owner acceptance.
• Participate in project meetings and provide timely communication regarding project status, risks, and action items.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability while ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.
