Responsibilities

The Renewal Underwriter focuses on underwriting excellence, profitability, and strategic portfolio alignment. Responsibilities include managing assigned book of business and renewal underwriters, evaluating and processing renewals, applying underwriting knowledge, managing relationships with producers, and ensuring compliance with SLAs.

  • Manage agency relationships and execute renewal strategies.
  • Ensure underwriting quality and profitability through risk analysis.
  • Negotiate accounts to optimize risk and profit.
  • Review renewal applications for risk and eligibility.
  • Generate and negotiate quotes with producers.
  • Utilize guidelines and data to assess risks and make coverage recommendations.
  • Process renewal policies and prepare documentation.
  • Collaborate with claims and risk management teams.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and accurate records.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and participate in training.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of multi-line underwriting experience, preferably in Human Services.
  • Knowledge of insurance rating, forms, and coverages.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Education
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
Additional Details

Remote work considered for qualified candidates. Salary range: $53k-$100k. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, PTO, 401(k), and profit-sharing. Limited travel required. Sponsorship not offered.
