AES Corporation is seeking a Valuation Associate to support greenfield development and M&A investment opportunities in the U.S. renewable energy sector, focusing on solar, wind, and energy storage.

You will build complex financial models and work with multiple teams to shape project finance decisions. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in renewable energy finance, strong modeling skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in renewable energy finance, including familiarity with U.S. power markets (solar, wind, and energy storage).
• 4+ years of strong financial modeling skills, with ability to manage complex debt and tax equity structures.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly explain complex concepts.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a collaborative mindset, curiosity, and a desire to learn.
• Committed to fostering a collaborative, respectful, and fun team culture.

Responsibilities

• Support the valuation of renewable energy projects by building and maintaining robust financial models.
• Collaborate with Development, M&A, Engineering, and Commercial teams to assess investment opportunities and identify key risks and value drivers.
• Help develop and analyze debt, tax equity, and project equity financing structures.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial metrics presented to senior decision-makers.
• Partner across teams to develop regional strategies, decision-making tools, and analyses that enhance prioritization and innovation.
• Participate in continuous improvement of team tools, templates, and processes.
