Job summary

Cherry Street Energy seeks a Paralegal or Legal Assistant to support the General Counsel in managing a growing portfolio of renewable energy transactions. The role offers flexible work arrangements and direct exposure to a fast-growing legal environment in the solar energy sector.

The successful candidate will oversee document workflows, maintain legal files and retention systems, and ensure ancillary agreements and regulatory filings are handled accurately and on time across multiple

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or attorney in a transactional practice.
• Significant experience with commercial real estate transactions, including familiarity with recorded instruments and title matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage the document lifecycle for each customer transaction, including ancillary agreements such as subordination and non-disturbance agreements (SNDAs).
• Coordinate with title companies to ensure timely recording of memoranda of lease, SNDAs, and other instruments in county land records.
• Track and manage lien waiver collections and final as-built sets from contractors across active construction projects.
• Assist with due diligence in asset acquisitions, including document collection, organization, and project files review.
• Develop and maintain the legal department’s filing system and document retention protocols.
• Maintain a calendar of key deadlines including contract milestones, recording deadlines, and filing due dates.
• Monitor and maintain corporate registrations and licenses across jurisdictions, coordinating with Operations.
• Prepare and coordinate regulatory filings in certain states.
• Assist with state expansion efforts, including licensing and regulatory requirements research.
• Review and advise on legal and contractual requirements in RFPs, RFQs, RFIs.
• Draft or review contractual language for bid submissions in coordination with Operations Coordinator.
