Job summary

Exus Renewables North America is seeking a Real Estate Development Paralegal to support the legal and development teams in establishing site control for renewable energy projects. This onsite role is based in our NYC office.

You will conduct real estate due diligence, review title documents, coordinate with title insurers and external counsel, and help prepare closing documents to move projects toward closing while maintaining thorough project files.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field; training in contracts/legal, compliance or project management required.
3+ years of real estate law experience required.
Law firm experience and paralegal certification preferred; renewable energy background highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct real estate due diligence for potential development sites, including liens, easements, leases, surveys and other title documents.
Review title policies, vesting, encumbrances and site control documents affecting projects.
Negotiate curatives for title exceptions and coordinate with title insurers, escrows and counsel to move to close.
Prepare and manage closing documents for property acquisitions and project finance closings; maintain detailed records.
