Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Pre-Ops Specialist to ensure operational readiness for wind, solar and battery storage projects as they transition from construction to operations. You will lead onboarding, safety culture integration, and cross-functional handoffs across the fleet.

You will train staff on substations, O&M and EAM workflows, identify improvements, and travel up to 75% to support sites nationwide while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of Renewable Energy experience.
• Experience and proficiency working with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of all components of renewable energy operations and associated equipment.
• Experience working with high voltage tooling and personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Ability to climb / work safely from a portable step ladder.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to develop and deliver technical training to varied audiences.
• Ability to work independently in dynamic, project-based environments.
• Strong cross-functional coordination skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel within the US fleet to support Invenergy-owned and third-party contracted sites on various scopes of work. Up to 75% travel – Monday through Friday travel.
• Understand and train complicated electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems associated with renewable operations.
• Manage and train deliverables and contractual obligations, while interfacing with internal/external parties.
• Develop and deliver technical training (substation, O&M, EAM, Intelex).
• Identify, document, and communicate opportunities for operational and quality improvements.
• Provide a high level of professionalism and technical expertise, while working with minimal oversight.
• Promote and reinforce Invenergy Safety culture and safe work practices.
• Participate in construction calls for new projects
• Host site onboarding calls with New Site Managers
• Coordinate cross-functional handoff to operations.
• Lead site onboarding training and readiness activities.
• Draft procedures and lead workflow process.
• Create site assets and maintenance structures.
