Job summary

WEC Energy Group offers a Summer 2027 Intern - Renewables Engineering position that can be located in Green Bay, Milwaukee, or nearby. The role blends remote and on-site work with field exposure across solar and wind projects.

The internship runs full-time during Summer 2027, with potential part-time in fall; starting hourly rate is $23.10 for this paid opportunity, including company holidays. A strong interest in renewables and Excel skills are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Interest in Renewables, PV Solar applications.
• Pursuing a four-year degree in an engineering field with a post-July 2027 graduation.

Responsibilities

• Support PV Solar projects and observe field activities.
• Update equipment records and optimize solar site performance.
• Support wind project operational performance and optimization.
• Review and revise technical documentation and drawings.
• Perform ad hoc investigations of emergent equipment issues.
• Use data to investigate performance or reliability issues in solar and wind fleets.
• Provide general engineering support to PG-Renewables group.
• Track ongoing tasks across sites and support engineers and supervisors.
• Drive continuous improvement by researching emerging utility solar trends.
• Alternate between remote and office work (hybrid).
• Travel to generation sites in WI, MI, IA, or IL.
