Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Studies Engineer to join our renewables team in Westminster, CO.

You will perform comprehensive electrical system studies for utility-scale plants, focusing on interconnection requirements and grid integration. The role requires 3–5 years in electrical plant design, a power-systems-focused Electrical Engineering degree, and proficiency with modeling tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field with power systems focus.
  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical plant design and system studies.
  • Experience with utility-scale renewable energy systems (wind, solar, battery storage) and grid integration.
  • Knowledge of electrical system studies (short circuit, load flow, reactive power, harmonics, insulation coordination).
  • Proficiency with electrical modeling tools (DIgSILENT PowerFactory preferred) and related software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical models and studies to support project design.
  • Create detailed system models and perform diverse studies (short circuit, load flow, harmonics, etc.).
  • Produce written reports with study results within project schedules.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external clients/engineers.
  • Review others' studies for quality before submission.
