Energy Storage Asset O&M Director - Energy Storage

This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing, focused on developing and executing dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. The company has accumulated over 9GW of projects and is currently expanding rapidly.
The Energy Storage Operations & Maintenance Director will join the leadership team to develop and oversee operational strategies for assets across the company's portfolio, focusing on warranties, fleet management, commissioning, and testing.
This role involves working with a cross-functional team including asset management and energy trading professionals to optimize renewable energy battery storage assets nationwide.

Responsibilities:
- Manage field-based O&M functions for utility-scale battery storage assets across ISO/RTOs to maximize performance and revenue.
- Develop and implement asset management strategies aligned with power trading and market operations.
- Collaborate with IT and OT departments to evaluate and optimize equipment, hardware, and software functions.
- Lead troubleshooting initiatives to improve project performance, system efficiency, and process improvements.
- Manage relationships with third-party contractors and vendors to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on asset O&M, OSHA, NERC compliance, risk management, and P&L reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field, with 10+ years of renewable energy O&M experience, including leadership roles. Equivalent experience in energy storage is acceptable.
- Proven success in field asset management, portfolio optimization, and technical asset management in renewables.
- Experience working with energy storage, BESS, or OEM equipment is highly preferred.
- Ability to ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO/RTO, and NERC standards.
- Relevant roles include Sr. Director of Asset Management, Director of Technical Asset Management, O&M Director, etc.
