Job Summary

The Renewable Lead oversees and coordinates field operations for renewable energy projects, including solar, battery storage, and related electrical systems. This role ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. The Renewable Lead serves as the primary on‑site point of contact for crews, subcontractors, and project management teams.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise assigned renewable energy installation crews on commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Ensure crews have all accurate and required material to complete tasks.
  • Ensure material being used is not wasted and ensure enough material is on site to complete all work assigned.
  • Coordinate daily work activities to meet project schedules, safety goals, and quality standards for assigned tasks.
  • Interpret electrical and structural drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Ensure proper installation of solar arrays, inverters, wiring, grounding, and associated systems for assigned tasks.
  • Conduct safety meetings and enforce company and OSHA safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other leads to resolve field issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily progress, materials used, and labor hours.
  • Train and mentor apprentices and crew members in renewable installation techniques and company procedures.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and quality assurance processes as required.
  • Monitor and report equipment and material need to ensure continuous workflow.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical or renewable energy construction; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical codes (NEC), and renewable installation practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel to various job sites.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • State electrical license or journeyman-level experience preferred (depending on project scope).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or in varying outdoor conditions.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders/scaffolding as needed for installation tasks.
Work Environment
  • Field-based position with travel to multiple job sites.
  • Exposure to outdoor elements and construction environments.
  • May include overtime, weekend, or extended hours depending on project deadlines.
