Job summary

Georgia Power seeks an Operations & Maintenance analytics specialist to analyze the renewable and resilient generation fleet and build energy models predicting performance. You will trend gaps, engage with industry partners on DER and BESS data, and drive improvements across 5GW+ of generation.

Strong data visualization and cross-functional collaboration are essential, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Data Analytics, or related degree preferred.
• Knowledge of renewable energy and application of solar and BESS technologies preferred.
• Proficient in project management, communicating technical details to a wide variety of stakeholders, and system performance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required.
• Experience with data management techniques to access, integrate, analyze, and visualize data from multiple sources.
• Experience in data analytics platforms (Tableau, PowerBI) required.
• Databricks experience preferred.
• GitHub experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking with pattern recognition and solution-oriented recommendations.

• Ability to work with diverse partners including leaders at customer facilities and military facilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture across the organization by supporting O&M initiatives and safety data trend analysis.
• Generate complex energy models to predict renewable output vs actual output to drive performance improvements.
• Review solar fleet performance and maintenance data and offer solutions and trends.
• Review performance goals against data sets to ensure targets are aligned.
• Engage with industry for BESS and DER performance trends and best practices to implement.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Renewable & Resilient Generation performance data.
• Support existing generation fleet and new facilities after COD with data related needs.
• Collaborate with Southern Company organizations to bring efficiencies and stronger strategy to Renewable & Resilient Generation.
