Salary Range : The full pay range for this role is $22.69 to $42.50 per hour, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $26.00 to $34.00 per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.
Scope of Job : We are seeking dedicated and talented individuals for roles ranging from entry-level Technician 1 to senior Technician 3 to perform maintenance, repair, and operational activities on utility-scale renewable energy assets, including wind turbines, Photovoltaic (PV) power systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Candidates will be placed at the level commensurate with their experience, qualifications, and successful completion of internal competency standards.
Required Training : Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend a mandatory 3-4 week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided.
The level of autonomy, technical complexity, and leadership responsibility distinctly separates the three technician roles.
Assists experienced technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Focuses on learning and applying safety protocols.
Works under specific direction and direct supervision.
Performs preventative maintenance independently and conducts routine troubleshooting, repairs, and minor upgrades.
Responsible for independent preventative maintenance. Participates in the 24-hour "On Call" rotation.
Performs unsupervised routine and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and leads teams on routine tasks.
Unsupervised execution of all corrective/preventative maintenance. May train and oversee Techs 1 & 2.
All technicians share a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and asset integrity.
All levels of the organization must be fiscally responsible on the company's behalf.
0 to 1 year in renewable energy or equivalent field.
1 to 2 years in renewable energy or similar discipline.
2+ years renewable energy experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
High school diploma or equivalent.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer knowledge; ability to follow instructions.
Basic knowledge of schematics, multi-meter use, and electrical/mechanical components.
Deep competency in generation theory. Advanced knowledge of electrical safety, arc flash standards, and NEC. Proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools.
