EDF power solutions North America is hiring for a range of Renewable Energy Technician roles (Technician 1–3) to perform maintenance, repair, and operating activities on wind, PV, and BESS assets.

Locations include Willow Springs and Cuyama solar sites in California. The company offers a structured training program (3–4 weeks) in MN, with travel and expenses provided, and a clear ladder from entry to senior technician roles, emphasizing safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Mandatory 3–4 week training and certification course at start of employment.
• Training location in Albert Lea, MN; travel and expenses provided.
• Roles range from Technician 1 to Technician 5 with increasing autonomy.

Responsibilities

• All technicians follow safety protocols including LOTO and conduct site safety assessments.
• Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Complete daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking and warranty/inventory documentation.
• Attend required safety and technical training and share knowledge with team.

Salary Range : The full pay range for this rol e is $22.69 to $47.74 per hour, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $27.00 - $33.00 per hour. W e generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

Scope of Job : We are seeking dedicated and talented individuals for roles ranging from entry-level Technician 1 to expert Technician 5 to perform maintenance, repair, and operational activities on utility-scale renewable energy assets, including wind turbines, Photovoltaic (PV) power systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Candidates will be placed at the level commensurate with their experience, qualifications, and successful completion of internal competency standards.

Required Training : Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend a mandatory 3-4 week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided.

This position will be supporting our Willow Springs and Cuyama solar sites.

Willow Springs is located near Rosamond/Lancaster, CA

Cuyama Solar is located near Bakersfeild/Taft, CA

Responsibilities

The level of autonomy, technical complexity, and leadership responsibility distinctly separates the three technician roles.

Role

Primary Focus

On-the-Job Autonomy & Leadership

Technician 1 (Entry-Level)

Assists experienced technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Focuses on learning and applying safety protocols.

Works under specific direction and direct supervision.

Technician 2 (Experienced)

Performs preventative maintenance independently and conducts routine troubleshooting, repairs, and minor upgrades.

Responsible for independent preventative maintenance. Participates in the 24-hour "On Call" rotation.

Technician 3 (Senior)

Performs unsupervised routine and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and leads teams on routine tasks.

Unsupervised execution of all corrective/preventative maintenance. May train and oversee Techs 1 & 2.

Shared Responsibilities (Applicable To All Levels)

All technicians share a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and asset integrity.

• Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and lead site safety assessments.
• Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation.
