Job summary

energyRe in Charleston, SC is seeking a Project Accountant to oversee financial accounting across renewable energy development assets from development through construction to operations.

The role partners with operations and finance leadership to ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, manage month-end closes, asset accounting, and intercompany eliminations within a multi-entity structure, leveraging new AI-driven tools to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in project/financial reporting.
• Experience in multi-entity or consolidated environments preferred.
• Public accounting or renewable energy experience is a plus.
• Ability to lead month-end and quarter-end closes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting across renewable energy assets at various development stages.
• Prepare WIP schedules and fixed asset accounting.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close with GAAP compliance.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for management.
• Coordinate draw processes and engage with lenders.
• Prepare audit schedules and support external audits.
• Support VIEs and tax equity consolidation considerations.
