Renewable Careers Limited in Chicago, IL is seeking an engineer to join our growing project team. You will learn from experienced engineers, take real responsibility early, and support solar, wind and battery storage initiatives from planning through operations.

Your work will include design reviews, energy production estimates, interconnection coordination with PJM and MISO, and site evaluations. A bachelor’s degree in engineering and US work authorization are required; internship or project

Responsibilities

• Support engineering design and technical reviews for solar, wind and BESS projects
• Prepare energy production estimates, site evaluations and technical due diligence
• Assist with interconnection applications and coordination with utilities (PJM, MISO)
• Review technical submittals from EPC contractors, consultants and vendors
• Support construction and commissioning with travel to project sites across the Midwest
• Analyze performance data from the operating fleet and recommend improvements
• Contribute to tools, templates and standards used by the engineering team

We are a clean energy company that develops, builds, owns and operates renewable projects across the United States. Our growing portfolio spans utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS), and as a long-term owner we stay with every project from the first feasibility study through years of operation. Illinois has set some of the most ambitious clean energy targets in the Midwest, and our Chicago team is growing to deliver against them.

What you will do

You will support engineering across our project pipeline, learning from experienced engineers while taking on real responsibility from the start. Your work will include:

• Supporting engineering design and technical reviews for solar, wind and BESS projects at every stage
• Preparing energy production estimates, site evaluations and technical due diligence
• Assisting with interconnection applications and coordination with utilities, including PJM and MISO processes
• Reviewing technical submittals from EPC contractors, consultants and equipment vendors
• Supporting construction and commissioning, with travel to project sites across the Midwest
• Analyzing performance data from our operating fleet and recommending improvements
• Contributing to the tools, templates and standards our engineering team runs on

What we are looking for

• A bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, civil or environmental engineering, or a related field
• A demonstrated interest in renewable energy and the clean energy transition
• Strong analytical ability and comfort working with data and spreadsheets
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to make technical topics simple
• Initiative and curiosity: you take ownership, ask good questions and learn quickly
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Internship, co-op or project experience in energy is a plus but not required. We hire for aptitude and attitude, and we invest in developing our engineers.
