Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Renewable Energy Civil Engineer in Denver, CO. You will work with experienced engineers on solar, BESS, and wind projects, handling site layout, grading, road design, drainage studies, and hydrologic modeling from early due diligence to final design and construction.

The role may involve serving as Project Manager for renewable energy projects and requires ABET-accredited civil engineering education, PE registration, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5–10 years of civil engineering experience.
• PE registration required.
• Experience with solar, BESS, wind projects preferred.
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D proficiency.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering design and technical support for renewable energy projects from conceptual through final design and construction.
• Prepare, develop, and review civil design plans and related documents.
• Provide project management in collaboration with the client’s project manager.
• Manage relationships with clients and agencies and conduct site observations.
• Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and consultants.

FarnsworthGroup is seeking a Renewable Energy Civil Engineer in the posting locations below. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on a wide variety of projects for renewable energy clients. Types of projects include solar, battery storage (BESS), and wind projects as well as other projects within the Renewable Energy industry. Project tasks may include, but are not limited to, site layout, grading, access road design, stormwater/drainage studies, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling. Work encompasses entire projects, including the initial due diligence phase through conceptual/preliminary design phases, and all the way through the final design, construction, and record drawing phases. This position includes opportunities to serve as Project Manager for various renewable energy projects. What You’ll Do:

• Provide civil engineering technical support and design for the development of renewable energy projects (conceptual through final design and construction), as part of an engineering team
• Prepare, develop, and review civil engineering design and construction plans and related documents
• Provide project management working directly with the Client’s project manager
• Manage, support, and build relationships with clients and agencies
• Conduct project field observation and condition assessments
• Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and consultants
• Communicate with clients regarding current and future projects

What You’ll Need:

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution
• 5-10 years of civil engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience in solar, BESS, wind or similar renewable energy projects preferred
• Professional Engineering (PE) registration
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience required
• Design experience on wind, solar and/or BESS projects preferred
• Ability and willingness to manage and contribute to several projects concurrently
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Computer proficiency with MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
• Ability to travel and have a valid driver’s license

Salary Range: $90,000 -$130,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
